An aluminum-free, sodium-free, potassium-free, gluten-free, high in calcium baking powder. Designed specifically for individuals on Kidney Dialysis who must avoid sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate, and who require higher intakes of calcium. Baking soda and baking powder are leavening agents in baked goods. They create the necessary gas for bread, cakes, muffins, etc. to rise.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Twice as much Ener-G Baking Powder must be used in place of regular baking powder.
NOTE: On average, the sodium in regular baking powder is about 100-200mg per serving, whereas Ener-G Baking Powder contains 0mg per serving.
