This chuck allows the Cannular Bench Top Canning Machine to be used with Visy/CDLE ends. Instead of changing the rolls, simply swap the chuck, make minor adjustments to the rolls and table height, and you can quickly seam CDLE ends.
Most aluminum can bodies are manufactured to the 202 standard. Two primary manufacturers produce lids for these 202 cans. The B64 is the standard lid used on most of the 500ml and 330ml cans we offer. Both 202 can designs are also compatible with other CDLE ends, should you wish to use your own.
About Can End Manufacturers
Two major competitors produce aluminum beverage can lids: Ardagh Group (a European company) primarily supplies CDL-type ends, and Ball (an American company) mainly supplies B64 and other end types. CDL and B64 are the dominant end types for 202 can bodies. B64 ends are commonly used in America, while CDL ends are more prevalent in Europe.
About CDLE Ends
CDLE ends are the primary type sold by Visy, as they license the technology from Ardagh Group. While some may refer to them as CDL ends, the correct technical name is CDLE. This should not be confused with the CDLE's predecessor, CDL+.
