Second, it contains good amounts of dietary fiber, and many nutrients including B Vitamins, Magnesium, Copper, Iron, Potassium, Zinc, and Selenium. Finally, it is free of trans-fat and cholesterol.

Ideas on How to Use Organic Whole Grain Sorghum

Sorghum Seeds have a mild and a slightly nutty flavor and are an amazing dish on its own. They are chewy when cooked and go well as a side dish with stewed vegetables, meat, fish, legumes, and various gravies. You can diversify your diet by using these White Groats instead of wheat, couscous, rice, or quinoa. Besides, Sorghum Grain is a wonderful substitute for oatmeal and can be eaten as morning porridge accompanied by nuts, fruits, and peanut butter. Furthermore, you can turn raw Milo Seeds into flour just by grinding them in a blender and use it as a replacement for Wheat, Oat, Brown Rice, Almond, and Buckwheat flours. Sorghum Flour works especially well for baking breads, muffins, pizza crusts, and cookies. A cool thing about Durra is that it is also a popcorn substitute. Popped Sorghum or Popped Jowar Dhani is easy to make either on the stove or in a microwave. If you prepare Sorghum popcorn on the stove, just place the seeds in a taller pan, cover with a lid and pop over a medium-low heat. If you are using the classic microwave method, dump the seeds in a brown paper bag, close it securely, and put it in a microwave for a few minutes.
